The responsibility of the zoning administrator is to enforce the provisions of the ordinances and, in doing so, perform duties as set forth by the planning commission. Duties include but are not limited to issuing permits and certificates of occupancy, maintaining filing system, make inspection of buildings or premises in order to carry out enforcement, issue violations, record non-conforming uses, take and record complaints, provide an update/report to council periodically, submit to planning commission an annual report, and make recommendations.
Board of Zoning Appeals
Hears and decides appeals where it is alleged by applicant that the is an error in any order, requirement, etc. made by the Building Zoning Administrator, Commission, Ordinances or laws, etc in administering or enforcing the provision of Ordinance.
Currently, the zoning board of appeals is comprised by the City Council Members.
