"Boil Water Advisory (BWA)"
On October 4, 2017 at approximately 11:45 p.m. the City had "Complete Loss of Pressure" or Sustained negative pressure below five psi in a portion of our distribution system.
Users of the water system you are being notified because the water system may be contaminated and the City of Potterville advises that you boil the water prior to drinking or cooking until further notice.
The water tower is going through a periodic inspection. During the inspection process a main break occurred which caused the loss of water pressure. The main break has been identified, is isolated and being fixed. The City will conduct tests to ensure the water is safe to drink without the boiling advisory. Until then, the City asks that you boil water before using. You will be notified when the advisory is no longer in effect.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Department of Public Works or the City Hall.
