NOTICE OF LAST DAY OF REGISTRATION
PRIMARY ELECTION TO BE HELD
TUESDAY, AUGUST 7, 2018
EATON COUNTY, MICHIGAN
TO THE QUALIFIED ELECTORS OF THE CITIES AND TOWNSHIPS IN THE COUNTY OF EATON, STATE OF MICHIGAN:
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that an election will be held in said cities and townships on Tuesday, August 7, 2018. The last day to register for said election is TUESDAY, July 9, 2018 by 5:00 p.m.
PERSONS ENTITLED to be registered voters in the County of Eaton, Michigan must possess the following qualifications on or before the day of the Election: (1) a citizen of the United States; (2) not less than 18 years of age; (3) a resident of the State of Michigan and the local municipality for not less than 30 days prior to the Election (MCL 168.492). In addition, qualified electors must be registered to vote not less than 30 days prior to the Election (MCL 168.497).
Residents registering after the deadline will not be eligible to vote at the election. Persons planning to register may do so in person at your city or township clerk's office, Eaton County Clerk’s office, or the Secretary of State drivers license bureau during regular business hours. Registration may also be made at the specified agency for clients receiving services through the Human Services Department, the Department of Community Health, Michigan Works and some offices of the Commission for the Blind and at the military recruitment offices for persons enlisting in the armed forces. Registration by mail may be used by obtaining and completing a Mail Voter Registration Application at www.mi.gov/vote and forwarding to the election official as directed on the application by the close of registration deadline. Lastly, those already registered may update their voter registration at www.expressSOS.com.
For The Purpose of voting on the following proposals:
Eaton County 911 and Central Dispatch Millage Renewal Question
Shall the County levy a millage in an amount not to exceed 0.95 of a mill ($0.95 on each $1,000 of taxable value) for a period of five (5) years (2019-2023) inclusive, for the purpose of continuing funding for a comprehensive, Countywide Enhanced 9-1-1 Emergency Telephone and Central Dispatch System?
For The Further Purpose of voting on the following proposal:
Eaton County Juvenile Millage Renewal Question
Shall the County levy a millage in an amount not to exceed 0.35 of a mill ($0.35 on each $1,000 dollars of taxable value) for a period of five (5) years (2019-2023) inclusive, for the purpose of continued funding to provide protective services for abused and neglected children, and to detain and house Eaton County juveniles who are delinquent, and to operate new and existing prevention and treatment programs for such juveniles and children?
For The Further Purpose of (Delta Township only) voting on the following:
Renewal of Operating Millage for Paramedic/Firefighter Services
Shall the currently authorized millage rate limitation of 0.9896 mill ($0.9896 of each $1,000 of taxable valuation) on the amount of taxes which may be assessed against all taxable property in the Charter Township of Delta, Eaton County, Michigan, be renewed for a period of 10 years, 2019 to 2028, inclusive, to provide operating funds for paramedic/firefighter services for township residents; the estimate of the revenue the township will collect if the millage is approved and levied in 2019 is approximately $1,405,600?

Grand Ledge City Charter Proposal
Shall the City Charter proposed by the Grand Ledge Charter Commission be adopted?
For The Further Purpose of (Benton Township only) voting on the following Fire and Emergency Medical Services Millage; and electing candidates seeking offices to be voted for: Township Clerk.
Shall Benton Township be authorized to continue to levy up to 1.9664 mills ($1.9664 per $1,000.00 of taxable value) in the tax limitation imposed under Article IX, Sec. 6 of the Michigan Constitution and levy it for 4 years, 2018 through 2021 inclusive, for the purpose of providing fire protection and emergency medical services, including capital equipment expenditures, which 1.9664 mills levy will raise an estimated $189,918.70 in the first year the millage is levied?
For The Further Purpose of (Brookfield Township only) electing candidates seeking offices to be voted for: Township Clerk and Trustee.
For The Further Purpose of (Carmel Township only) electing candidates seeking offices to be voted for: Township Clerk.
For The Further Purpose of (Vermontville Township only) electing candidates seeking offices to be voted for: Township Clerk and Trustees.
